About Jahurul Islam Medical College, Bangladesh

Jahurul Islam Medical College (JIMC) holds the distinct honor of being the second oldest private medical college established in Bangladesh, founded in 1992 by the legendary industrialist and philanthropist Alhaj Jahurul Islam. Affiliated with the prestigious University of Dhaka, the institution has carved out an outstanding legacy spanning over three decades of exceptional medical teaching, rigorous academic performance, and extensive rural healthcare contribution.

Superbly located across a massive, beautifully planned 52-acre self-contained campus in the peaceful suburban setting of Bhagalpur, Bajitpur in the Kishoreganj district, JIMC offers a pristine, green, and completely distraction-free learning environment. The college runs a highly structured 5-year English-medium Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree framework followed by a mandatory 1-year clinical internship. Practical diagnostics and clinical clinical training are carried out in the attached Jahurul Islam Medical College Hospital—a massive, fully modern 500-bed tertiary care referral medical complex that caters to millions across the region, guaranteeing students unparalleled bedside patient exposure.

Fully permitted by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of Bangladesh, JIMC is globally recognized by major medical authorities including the Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council (BM&DC), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the National Medical Commission (NMC) of India, acting as a top academic destination for international students.
